Start-up Britain hands over the reins to The Centre of Entrepreneurs.

A couple of months ago, Start-up Britain handed over the reins of its entrepreneurship promotion and support to The Centre of Entrepreneurs.    Start-up Britain was set up in March 2011 by a group of entrepreneurs who were eager to ‘boost Britain’s enterprise culture and start-up rate”.   Since this date, start-up rates have hit record breaking figures.  Going from just under 441,000 in 2011 to 526,500 in 2013.

The main campaigns, launched during this time, included a nationwide bus tour spreading the start-up message, a number of free events to attract Britain’s aspiring entrepreneurs, with some events run in conjunction with the MAA, and the successful PopUp Britain.

Face for Business and MAA

Face for Business is proud to be able to say that we, a start-up company ourselves, benefitted from one of Start-up Britain’s promotional campaigns.  In January of this year we entered a competition which we came across in one of the regular newsletters that we’d signed up for (distributed via Start-up Britain).  There were a number of stages to the competition – initial entry form, two rounds of shortlisting and then an invitation to pitch ‘Dragon’s Den style’ to nine MAA agencies.  Read our blog post on the competition here.

Needless to say, we were delighted to have been chosen by World of Initials at the pitching event, and have been working with Initials for the past few months to develop our brand and marketing strategy. Working with Initials so far, has enabled us to focus more on our main marketing message.

Follow The Centre for Entrepreneurs

We would urge any start-ups, new businesses or entrepreneurs to follow The Centre for Entrepreneurs, and keep a look out for any campaigns, competitions or initiatives that they will be running.  Their next event takes place in London on 10 June and is entitled ‘The Entrepreneur Revolution – Unleashing British Business'. More details here.

We hope you find this blog post useful, and that it proves to be a useful signpost to services, campaigns and events that will prove beneficial to you as an aspiring business person.
