LinkedIn’s Mission

LinkedIn was founded in December 2002, and launched in May 2003 and is mostly used for professional networking. There are approximately 259 million users and rising, in more than 200 countries and territories.

LinkedIn’s mission is to “connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful”.

Social & Business Networking

LinkedIn is a social network which allows you to connect with other like-minded professionals, and is more or less your online CV – giving your connections information relating to your current employment and workplace history. It is also used in the business world to share and circulate information relating to business news and views on current affairs.

Some employers use LinkedIn to promote their company and brand as there is a function to create an advert or to sponsor a professional group. There is also the option to create your own group, relevant to your line of business, where you can invite members from your LinkedIn community to join and use as a discussion forum.

LinkedIn Company Page

As an individual on LinkedIn you can create a Company Page, detailing any information relating to your company and the sector it falls within, and it also gives you the opportunity to detail your products and services on a separate page.

Here’s our LinkedIn Company Page – which also has a tab displaying our services. LinkedIn can also be used as a social media marketing platform to promote your business.
