Although Burscough is a small village in West Lancashire, it has many diverse businesses who would relish the opportunity of being promoted across our parish and neighboring communities. The ‘Love Burscough Street Team’ is a small group of business people whose main aim is to promote local businesses through the new realm of communicating and promotion via social media. Social media is a very effective platform of promotion and marketing and if it’s done correctly, can be of great benefit.
Love Burscough Street Team
The Love Burscough Street Team is looking into planning its inaugural street team meeting early next year, and will be inviting and encouraging all Burscough businesses to attend. At this free event, the street team will divulge how it plans to raise the profile of local businesses with the main aim of getting Burscough’s residents to shop local. The street team wants to provide a ‘one stop shop’ for businesses and inhabitants to visit, to explore the varied shops, trades, and services available.
The Street Team has begun with this endeavour, and uses Twitter daily to help raise the profile of many local businesses already. Its founder, Sarah Harrison, has recently won “Networker of the Year’ at the Enterprise Vision Awards 2013. Sarah, along with the rest of the Street Team, has a passion for keeping things local, and has lots of exciting ideas for the future.
Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for news of this free event. If you have a passion for an independent Burscough, they would love to hear from you. Find them on twitter @loveburscough or on Facebook.
Face For Business’ premises is situated at Burscough Wharf (see our previous blog on Life at the Wharf) and we find that it is a perfect location for our call handling and telephone answering service. We think Burscough is a village to be proud of, and we need to encourage people from our neighbouring communities to visit us, and use the businesses and services that we provide.
