We have had a great year!
Starting the company in summer 2013 meant that we celebrated our first birthday, and reached this major milestone, which in today’s economy means that we are one of the lucky start-ups to have reached this anniversary. Our staffing has increased three fold, and we now have an Office Manager. Our sales campaigns are working well, and our branding is becoming known.
We’ve managed to compete with our contemporaries and can be found alongside them in the Google rankings for telephone answering services, most of the time being on page one.
We’ve also been successful at being shortlisted for a regional award, won a marketing agency competition and have been showcased on The Guardian’s Small Business Network three times, meeting the criteria for ‘Cashflow’, ‘Smarter Working’ and ‘Marketing and PR Excellence’.
See below for a rundown of our 2014.
Quarter 1 – national competitions and awards
In January, we were successful at being shortlisted in a national competition, which we went on to win. See our blog on the Marketing Agencies Association here. We also started off the year letting our followers know that we were amongst the Top 14 trends of 2014, falling within the ‘virtual assistants’ category. In February we were shortlisted to ‘finalist’ in the ‘Innovation’ category for the Lancashire Red Rose Awards. A massive first for us. Read more about our entry here. With regards to our sales effort, we found that our service suited them well. If you’d like to see how, please review our Case Studies webpage for Cleaning Companies.

Quarter 2 – call answering for independent financial advisers (IFA) and increased resources
Our sales campaign kick started, and we were very successful at gaining new clients from a targeted sales campaign, which saw us sign up customers from the Independent Financial Advisers and Accountants sector. Our call answering provision is the perfect solution for their out of the office worries. See how we help these lines of businesses here.
Out staffing levels increased so much that we employed an Office Manager, to deal with the daily running of a call answering service, and we welcomed Helen Christian into our fold.
As part of Liverpool’s inaugural International Festival of Business 2014 (see blog post here), we had the opportunity to interview multi-disciplinary award winning designer, and majorly successful entrepreneur, Wayne Hemingway. He gave us his views on how to make a success from starting your own business – to view this advice, please read our interview with him here.

Quarter 3 – First birthday celebrations and telephone answering private medical practices
We reached our first birthday, and celebrated in style! We had a birthday meal out, and our PAs were keen to mark the event by raising funds for the ‘Help for Heroes’ charity. We donned our ‘FFB Army’ t-shirts, baked cakes, made biscuits and sold red, white and blue loom bands! For more on our celebrations, please look at the press release that was distributed.
Going into the summer months we increased our client base further by offering telephone answering services to private medical practices. Our provision makes perfect sense for businesses in this category, and we had some really great feedback from them.
Following our first birthday, we sent out our very first Client Satisfaction Survey to all our clients, and were delighted with the results. Our clients are 100% satisfied with our service. See the results in full here.

Quarter 4 – call handing for driving instructors, and fundraising for our chosen charity
We struck up a partnership deal with the Driving Instructor’s Association towards the latter end of 2014, and our General Manager, Andy English, visited a number of events to present on our service. See how well our call handing provision works for driving schools and instructors here.
We also, for the first time, chose a charity to fundraise for – we’ll be raising the profile and awareness of local charity, Twinkle House, based in the next town to us, in Skelmersdale. Have a look at the team photo with Jill Boardman here!
We hope you’ve enjoyed reading our blog and look forward to the New Year, as we hope you are too. Here’s a link to an electronic Christmas card that we produced in-house! We hope you enjoy meeting the rest of the team!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
