Are you a small/new business? Are you based in Lancashire or the surrounding areas? Would you like help with your marketing? Would you also like to meet like-minded businesses in the community and strike-up working relationships?
If you do, then the Lancashire Marketing Club could be just the thing for you. Why not come along to our next meeting? The meetings are usually held on the second Thursday of every month from 9.30am to 11.30am at Briar's Hall. There is a small cost of £7.00 to cover the hospitality.
Topics covered so far include:-
- Marketing on a shoestring
- Facebook marketing
- LinkedIn (which was a fabulous session)
- Websites that work - with a brief overview of SEO
The host and organiser is Emma Fletcher of Wainwrights Estate Agents. Emma started the group because as a local business owner she realised there was a need for local, down to earth marketing advice in the West Lancashire area that didn't cost a fortune. Emma says...
When starting my own estate agency business I didn't know where I was best spending my marketing budget. I didn't have a huge budget and I needed to spend it wisely but there was a lot of conflicting advice out there. I looked locally for support and found that whilst there are a lot of local networking groups, I couldn't find any specifically dedicated to marketing, so I decided to set up my own.
Emma invites guest speakers to attend each meeting and the group itself decides on topics. The meetings are structured with half an hour for informal networking at the beginning, with a spot of breakfast, and then a 30 -40 minute presentation and discussion with time at the end for further informal networking. It’s not a hard sell environment, but one where relationships are encouraged via support and help. (Photo of Emma below).
Our Marketing Manager, Sara Parker, attends each session and found the LinkedIn session invaluable. Steve Phillips from LinkedIn 2 Success gave a really informative session and inspired Sara that much that she immediately updated her LinkedIn profile and understood more about how to be active on this platform. You can view Sara's profile here.
Annemarie Whatmough from TwentyOne (a strategic digital agency) gave a really useful session on the correct way to structure your website and also gave some insight into SEO. The group decided that it would be helpful to run through SEO again, and this will be the topic of March’s meeting with GDPR scheduled for April 2018.
