Since the business’ conception last year, they have been on an incredible journey.  Over the last year they have achieved profiling on the UK’s first Small Business Saturday, which culminated in an invitation to Downing Street.  They have seen success with a nationwide marketing agency competition, and have been showcased on The Guardian’s Small Business Network, twice.

Furthermore, Face for Business has innovated their service to incorporate diary bookings, using a bespoke system, which is working well and above expectations.  This led to the company being shortlisted for Lancashire’s annual Red Rose Awards, within its ‘Innovation’ category.

The business is seeing steady success as its client base and company is growing each month, with its PA Pool and Sales Team increasing quarterly. They have just taken on their first apprentice, and an additional Office Manager. All employed locally.

To celebrate Face for Business’ first birthday, staff decided to raise funds for the ‘Help for Heroes’ charity, as its birthday is close in date to ‘Armed Forces Day’.

Staff baked cakes to sell, held a raffle and a ‘Name the Teddy’ competition, as well as an employee’s children making red, white and blue loom bands to sell.

To link in with the army theme, Susan Holme made an ‘FFB Army’ cake, whilst Helen Heaton made a cake bearing Face for Business’ logo.

Ian Williams from Help for Heroes visited Face for Business’ offices to be presented with the cheque. He said…

“It was an absolute delight to be invited along to meet the lovely people who work at Face for Business, and to share in their first birthday celebrations. Not only that, they’d gone to the trouble to organise a charity fundraiser in support of Help For Heroes, to mark the occasion. In my capacity as a Volunteer Coordinator for Help for Heroes locally, they’d asked me to accept the funds raised from the sale of cakes that the staff had made.

The idea came from Helen and Sara at Face for Business, with support from the Management Team, and they also set up a ‘Just Giving’ page online which gave their customers the opportunity to pledge money, thus adding more donations to the cause, which is all about supporting our injured Armed Service Personnel.

The collective amount raised is currently a much appreciated £183.48, and I would like to humbly thank them all for their wonderful thought and effort”.

Andy MacGregor, Owner of Face for Business commented…

“It was a great way to mark our first birthday by raising money for such a worthy cause. I am really pleased that the team received support for the day, from all those that bought the cakes and made the donations. Plus, the team themselves were in great spirits even after the hours of baking they put in. We are looking forward to growing our company further and marking our second birthday in equally as good a manner”.
